Rotokauri Residence Honoured at NZ Timber Design Awards

A Rotokauri house, designed by Antanas Procuta Architects, has been honoured at New Zealand Timber Design Awards 2009. The Jackways-Treacher residence was Highly Commended in the Residential Architectural Excellence category at the awards dinner, held at Langham Hotel, on October 27.

The projects innovative and distinctive use of timber has created a unique, elegant, intricately designed home for the owners. Twin pavilions make maximum use of the site’s position overlooking a lake, capturing all day sun and views. The result is a serene light-filled.

The New Zealand Timber Design Awards celebrate outstanding design, engineering and construction practice using timber. A total of 16 buildings from the cream of New Zealand’s architectural talent were selected for Timber Design Awards.

The project received further honours by also winning its category at the recent NZIA NZ Architectural Awards.
